Cultivating Solidarity and Hope
We are enduring a new reality that is leading us to reconceive the ways we connect with each other, cope with distress, and engage in purposeful work. Yet, our responses to this ongoing pandemic must be framed upon a core value that is at the heart of a global studies education: namely, that we are all interconnected. Given this, we are convinced that, more than ever, relationships, dialogue, and community will keep us grounded; empathy will tend to our collective wellbeing; and imagination will enlighten our future.
In harnessing the trust we developed as a global studies community, the 2020 senior Global Studies class are leading Togetherness, a project committed to fostering a deeper sense of resilience to cultivate hope in uncertain times. This project aims to remain true to our commitments to build community and solidarity as we work to create a better and more just world.
